First Sections Of Track Installed For Hyperia
Thursday 12th October 2023
Following on from yesterday's post from Thorpe Park, more track has been installed for Hyperia!

It's hard to see the bit of track installed due to it being dusk but the park is making amazing progress on this build!

Track For Hyperia Installed
Wednesday 11th October 2023
Thorpe Park has published a new update on the Annual Pass Group Facebook page about Hyperia. The first few sections of the track have today been installed!

The track looks beautiful, 3 sections of track for one of the inversions have been installed.

This is a big step for the project!

Hyperia Rises Into The Thorpe Park Skyline
Tuesday 10th October 2023
It’s the second day of Hyperia going vertical at Thorpe Park and already the park is making amazing progress with the rollercoaster structure. Mack Rides are on site to help assist with the construction of the new rollercoaster and judging by them previously building Voltron at Europa Park it won’t be long until this ride is towering over the skyline of the park.

During our short visit down Monks Walk, we saw two bits of track lifted into the sky and into specific areas of the site ready to be installed over the next few days.

Over 20 supports have been installed in the last 48 hours and the site is looking amazing. Work on the foundations for the maintenance building has also kicked started since our visit less than a week ago. Foundations for the base of the building are currently being built out of rebar before concrete will then be poured to form the foundations of the building.

Already the structure is very visible to anyone walking down Monk Walk. The ride structure towers above the old Platform 15 fence. Which has seen better days!

The view from across the lake and the bridge is going to change forever! And we can’t wait.

Project Exodus / Hyperia Goes Vertical
Monday 9th October 2023
Exciting news is coming in from Thorpe Park this afternoon. Project Exodus now known as Hyperia has gone vertical!

Supports are now flying into place for the rollercoaster and it won't be long until the rollercoaster is visible from within the park.

It looks like 6 or 7 supports of the power section of the ride have already been installed. The photos aren't time stamped but with them being posted mid-afternoon we wonder how fast things have progressed on site already.

The skyline of the park is about to change rapidly!

Project Exodus Supports Driven Through The Park
Thursday 5th October 2023
With supports now being stored at the project exodus site it was only time until we saw supports being driven through the park and being craned into the construction site.

Nothing has gone vertical yet but this is the first stage of the project going vertical.

Part of the pathway outside Burger King in Old Town was today blocked off with trucks entering and leaving the site all day. So we decided to camp out and see if we could get a glimpse at some of the supports being driven into the site. An hour later... success!

It won't be long until we see some of these supports fly into the air and totally change the island landscape forever.

New For 2024 Hyperia At Thorpe Park Resort
Thursday 5th October 2023
Thorpe Park has tonight announced the rollercoaster name behind the code word "Project Exodus"

Introducing... Hyperia!

Opening in 2024, the rollercoaster will become the tallest rollercoaster in the UK standing at 236ft and built by Mack Rides.

We had previously heard rumours that the rollercoaster could have been called names such as Icarus and intimidator, but we like Hyperia!

This was announced via a live stream on Thorpe Park's youtube channel.

Supports Moved To Project Exodus Site Vertical Construction To Start Soon
Wednesday 4th October 2023
Project Exodus is just days away from going virtual! Supports have been moved from the storage location behind Stealth and The Swarm and moved towards the back of the exodus site. Both gold and white supports can be seen at the back of the site waiting to be installed. A crane can be seen ready to install the supports over the next few days. We think the rollercoaster will go vertical in the next 48 hours if not sooner!

Old Town and the Thorpe Park Skyline is about to be transformed and new heights will be reached.

Elsewhere around the construction site, foundations for the station continue to be worked on with sides for the station being built in rebar before concrete is poured into them. The foundations for the first corner out of the station to the lift hill now look to be complete.

A new delivery of panels for the station can be found down monks waiting to be installed once the station structure goes together.

It would also appear that the new fence down Monks Walk that runs along the construction site is going to be made even taller to keep trespassers out and to secure the site. The fence posts have been made higher but no wire or extra fence panels have been installed yet.

A big orange pumpkin can also be seen next to the storage containers/site office for the project. This orange pumpkin has previously been used at the construction site for Croc Drop at Chessington.

Project Exodus Track Builds Up On Storage Island
Monday 25th September 2023
More and more supports for Project Exodus has been delivered to Thorpe Park ready for the rollercoaster to go vertical.

There are now so many supports that the island is almost full. Even more exciting you can now see supports from The Swarm, the first supports were pushed to the side of the island away from the site because of the trees and bushes.

But now you can see them from the far corner of the swarm island, next to the entrance. If you cross The Swarm station you can also catch a glimpse of the supports through the church window.

We can't wait to see this project go vertical over the next few months!

Project Exodus Station Turnaround Foundations Begin
Sunday 17th September 2023
Nothing has gone vertical at Project Exodus quite yet but work to prepare the site for the station building and roller coaster to go vertical continues. The drilling machine is back on site and looks to be drilling foundations for the turn-around section out of the station.

Ground pins can be seen sticking out of the ground in the turn-around section as you leave the station. We thought these foundations were already dug and ready to go but it seems that for sit access maybe these bits were left till last? Foundations for the station appear to also be bigger than when we saw them two weeks ago. Peeking through the windows, one of the bases for the bottom of the lift hill is now complete.

More supports have also been delivered and are being stored at the island next to The Swarm.

Hopefully, it won't be too much longer until things go vertical and we can really get excited!

Project Exodus Prepares To Go Vertical
Monday 4th September 2023
Exciting times for Project Exodus might be just days away!

Rumours about the project going vertical this week have been circulating the community since the end of last week. Although the site might not be complete for foundations for the supports it's expected that the station might be the first section to go vertical and be installed.

The foundation base for the station has been poured and looks ready for steelwork. Which has been delivered and is being stored down Monks Walk. There’s a large amount of steelwork down the access road but it's important to remember that there are two buildings to build. The station and the maintenance area which we expect will be the last bit to be installed seeing as it will be down part of the access road.

Looking at the foundations for the station, the ground pins for roller-coaster supports can be seen sticking out the base. These will be where the supports anchor to the foundations. There will also be a space below the ride for maintenance staff to inspect the ride each morning. Supports and foundations for the maintenance building are still work in progress.

Viewing the site from Colossus and Saw The Ride a lot of foundations for the rollercoaster now appear to be complete. We would take a guess and say 80% of the foundations for the roller-coaster are now complete. Meanwhile, at The Swarm storage island, lots more supports have been delivered but no sign of any track yet!

The construction site for Project Exodus is very busy and it shouldn’t be long until we see support's and the station building go virtual.
