Lion Cubs Throughout Time

Date Posted:

Monday 25th June 2018

On 19th September 2016, Rani gave birth to 3 healthy female lion cubs, Anala, Ramari, and Kesari. Kept quiet from the public until early December 2016, no one knew about the cubs or even knew that Rani was pregnant until one day Chessington gave everyone the perfect early Christmas present with the news of the new Asiatic Lion Cubs.

Over the past year and a half, we’ve seen them grow from the size of your common house cat into fully grown lions. Being part of the European Breeding Programme means that now they must leave to travel to a new zoo and become mums themselves over the next few years. We can't wait for the day when they themselves have cubs!

We’ve gone through our photo archives of the cubs and grouped our favorite photos of the cubs!
