On Friday 24th May 2019, Thorpe Park Resort celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Founded in 1979 the park has grown from being a small park with no rides and attractions to being home to the UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster.

Today marks another historic day for the Mack Family with the official opening of Krønasår – The Museum-Hotel. This 4* superior hotel is the sixth Europa-Park hotel to join the already impressive line-up.

After a year of the Thorpe Park only annual pass being run a new version has been launched today. Thorpe Park Premium pass introduces features seen in the Merlin Pass’ such as discounts in shops and food units, free parking, exclusive invites to Pass holder Previews and many more.

Since being installed in 2009, the Saw The Ride entrance plaza sign has never received a lot of TLC. Previously at Fright Nights, the lamps above the sign would be turned on in a flickers mode to make the place look and feel a bit more creepy.

Now open at Thorpe Park, Jungle Escape is the parks take on an escape room. Open from 13th May till 27th September Jungle Escape is based in the building previously occupied by The Asylum and I'm A Celeb.

Launched in 2014 the Merlin VIP Annual Pass costed £725 and gained pass holders unlimited admission to Merlin attractions worldwide along with unlimited fastrack, drinks and other exclusive events.

After 30 years of being operational at Chessington, Black Buccaneer has dropped its sail for the last time. The ride didn’t actually open for the 2019 theme park season after no work had been done to the ride rumors started to circulate that the ride wouldn’t be returning.

New for 2019 at Alton Towers Resort Hotels, personalise your hot drink and beer! The park has introduced a new machine called Ripples. A personalisation station where from your phone you can print a message or photo on your drink of choice for an extra charge of £1.50.

Merchandise for Thorpe Park’s 40th anniversary has been released in the Mega Store and shop in The Dome. Consisting of an old logo pin badge, hoodie, T-Shirt, mug and lanyard all items are limited edition.
